Day 4

Temple of Poseidon

Half day excursion to Cap Sunion with lunch at the sea front (lunch not included). The Temple of Poseidon, located at Cape Sounion, about 70 km southeast of Athens, is a stunning ancient Greek temple dedicated to the god of the sea, Poseidon. Built in the 5th century BC, it stands on a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The temple’s majestic marble columns, though partly in ruins, reflect classical Doric architecture. Historically, it served both as a place of worship and as a landmark for sailors navigating the dangerous coastal waters. Today, it's a popular site for visitors, especially at sunset.
