Accessible Ancient Delphi
Ancient Delphi, located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus in central Greece, was one of the most significant religious and cultural centers of the ancient world. Revered as the sanctuary of Apollo, it was home to the famous Oracle of Delphi, where the Pythia, a priestess, delivered cryptic prophecies that influenced major decisions in the ancient Greek world. The site features remarkable ruins, including the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, and the stadium, which hosted the Pythian Games, a precursor to the Olympics. Delphi was also considered the "navel of the world" (Omphalos) according to Greek mythology. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors from around the globe who come to marvel at its history, architecture, and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valley.
